Detect and convert spot colors to CMYK in Acrobat

Design files can contain spot colors – colors that are printed using a single ink. These are often corporate colors, such as Coca Cola red, for instance. In many cases these files get printed in only four colors, CMYK, as this is less expensive than adding an extra spot color on the press.

PitStop Pro preflight checks PDFs for spot colors

To prevent unexpected results and color shifts, it’s important to check if spot colors are present in a PDF file. PitStop Pro preflight can check if spot colors are present in a PDF and convert these spot colors to CMYK if needed within Acrobat without having to go back to the native layout document.
