Enfocus Browser, available as a free standalone application as well as a plug-in for Adobe Acrobat, is a tool to navigate, view and edit the low-level object hierarchy in a PDF file.

PDF experts, Acrobat plug-in developers, Acrobat instructors, and PDF fanatics in general will appreciate the low-level access to PDF files offered by this tool. This access can be used to detect any issue with a PDF file.  However, it does require a profound knowledge of the PDF specifications. These specifications can be downloaded for free from the Adobe website.

To the knowledgeable user, the Enfocus Browser offers functionality to get information on all types of objects (Dictionaries, Arrays, Streams, ...) in the PDF. Starting with the "Info" and "Root" dictionaries, the application resolves all indirect object references while you dig deeper into the data structure. If enabled, relevant parts of the data from a PDF file can even be altered, offering very low-level editing capabilities.

The Enfocus Browser was initially only used internally to troubleshoot PDF files, but we decided to make it available for external people as well. It should be clear that Enfocus can not guarantee any future upgrades, nor can we take any responsability with regards to the use of this product or provide support on this application.
