About the experts

Wim Fransen
Wim Fransen is the Managing Director of Enfocus. Before joining Enfocus in July 2017, Wim worked with Enfocus’ parent company, Esko, for 22 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge that will help to drive the innovation and development across the Enfocus product portfolio. In his previous role, as director of the Interactive Applications Software Product group at Esko, Wim headed up a team of product managers and engineers handling desktop and mobile applications for packaging design and pre-production. 

Richard Romano
Richard Romano is Managing Editor of WhatTheyThink.com, the leading news and information portal for the graphic communications industry, for which he also covers the Wide Format beat. He is also the author or co-author of more than a half dozen or so books on technology and the print business, the most recent being Beyond Paper: An Interactive Guide to Wide-Format and Specialty PrintingThe Third Wave, and This Point Forward: The New Start the Marketplace Demands (the latter two with Dr. Joe Webb). He lives in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Timothy Freeman
Tim Freeman is President of Printing Industries Alliance, the trade association representing graphic communications and related businesses in New York State, northern New Jersey, and northwestern Pennsylvania.  Printing Industries Alliance provides a variety of consultative, informational, educational, representative, and expense reducing business services to companies within its geographical footprint.  Printing Industries Alliance is an independent regional affiliate of Printing Industries of America.

Tim joined Printing Industries Alliance in 1984 and was appointed President in 1988. His responsibilities include working with member companies to resolve individual and industry issues, representing industry interests at all levels of government, managing the organization's programs and services, maintaining organizational financial stability, sales, and marketing activities, managing relationships with other industry organizations and educational institutions, etc.

In 2007, he led the organization's expansion into the Metro New York area following the demise of a predecessor organization. This action resulted, among other things, in the rescue and reinvigoration of the annual Franklin Event. The Franklin program is held annually and is a major source of funding for the Print Drives America Foundation. The Foundation is sponsored by Printing Industries Alliance and its mission is to promote the economic impact Print has on our national economy.

Tim works in the Printing Industries Alliance headquarters office in Amherst NY and travels frequently throughout the organizational territory. He resides in Grand Island, NY with his wife Cathy and 4 dogs. 

Jos Steutelings
Jos has been active in the graphic arts industry for more than 20 years. After his higher education at the HIGRO (current Artevelde University College) in Ghent, he started his career at Concentra Media (current Mediahuis). In this period he went through various steps in the prepress department.

He has more than 15 years of experience in managing teams and optimizing graphic processes as a prepress manager and process manager.

He has been working at VIGC (Flemish Innovation Center for Graphic Communication) since 2014. First as a senior innovation consultant where, among other things, he was project manager for the online print project. He also helped to transform VIGC into a modern and customer-oriented innovation center and network organization.

Since April 2019, Jos has been responsible for the day-to-day management of VIGC as managing director. In this position he mainly wants to promote innovation and entrepreneurship within Belgian and Dutch graphic arts companies.
