ISO
ISO, a non-governmental organization, is a network of national standards bodies of some 160 countries. The members propose the new standards, participate in their development and provide support for nearly 3280 technical groups. Expert input comes from those closest to the needs for the standards. In this way, although voluntary, ISO standards are widely respected and implemented by public and private sectors internationally.
As ISO committee members, Enfocus PitStop development team members Peter De Bruyne and Bert Van Kerckhove actively participate in the development of the next PDF specification (PDF 2.0), and are involved in related standards, such as PDF/X.

The Ghent Workgroup
The Ghent Workgroup is an international organization made up of graphic arts users, associations & software vendors building best practices for publishing workflows. The resulting recommendations and specifications are making it easy for increasing numbers of professionals around the world to successfully create, process, and exchange graphic arts files for numerous applications.
GWG has successfully produced free specifications for the use of PDF/X-1a PLUS and PDF/X-4 PLUS in vertical graphic arts segment applications. The GWG has also published several white papers and the Ghent Output Suite, used to test the ability of workflows to correctly handle PDF files in production.
Enfocus PitStop product manager Andrew Bailes-Collins currently holds the roles of Technical officer and co-chair of the Specification Committee.

PDF Association
Founded in 2006 as the PDF/A Competence Center, the PDF Association exists to promote the adoption and implementation of International Standards for PDF technology.
- Developers use the PDF Association to share knowledge and experience with PDF technology.
- Decision-makers use the PDF Association to learn about the role and capabilities of PDF and PDF’s subset standards in ECM and other electronic document applications.
- End-users benefit from improved reliability, quality, functionality and interoperability in their experience of electronic documents.
