This document describes the new features and most important bug-fixes in Enfocus PitStop Professional 6.x.

PitStop Professional 6.0

New Features

-PDF 1.5 compatible: This release offers the possibility to check and fix PDF 1.5 specific features during preflight. Examples are JPEG 2000 compression, 16 bit image depth, layers…etc
-PANTONE® Color Library: Integration of the PANTONE Color Library allows the user to change colors by interactively selecting them from the library:
change Process colors to PANTONE colors

change PANTONE colors to a different PANTONE color
- Mac OS® X compatibility  (v.10.2.2 or higher)
- Fully integrated support for CertifiedPDF.net technology.

Bug-Fixes

This is not a complete summary of all bug-fixes, but a list of the most important problems that were fixed in this release.

Bug-Fixes

This is not a complete summary of all bug-fixes, but a list of the most important problems that were fixed in this release.
- Change in naming of Save As Certified copy.
- Document name is now derived from the document title.
- Unexpected results when starting the Certified PDF Workflow when using Save instead of Save and Preflight.
- Undo function did not always work as expected on actions that removed transparency.
- Fixed some issues that prevented the replacement of a certain font with a symbol font.
- Issues related to retrieving the default transfer function.

PitStop Professional 6.1

-Updated smart profile compare mechanism
-Permission issues on Mac OS X v 10.3 (Panther)
-Updated PDF/X profiles

PitStop Professional 6.12

-16-bit images are now always checked, more info see this KB article.
-Shadings and patterns no longer disappear when they are moved or copied.
-Improved User Interface of the Inspector on Mac OS9 and Mac OSX.
-No more Acrobat crashes when preflighting with page box templates or using global change and zoom.
-PitStop Server 3.x won't crash anymore when dropping files -certified with PitStop Professional 6.1 build 147/148 in Acrobat 5.05 -  into a hotfolder.

PitStop Professional 6.5

New features

-PitStop Professional 6.5 supports Acrobat 7 and enables you to check and fix PDF 1.6 specific features during preflight.
-Updated rules regarding text editing, in PitStop Professional 6.5 in conjunction with Acrobat 7 following font licensing rules apply :
If the font is embedded and contains licensing information PitStop Professional honours that information otherwise the user is asked whether he is licensed to edit the font. If so, text editing is allowed.
In PitStop Professional 6.5 in conjunction with Acrobat 6 on Mac OS X text editing is only allowed if the font is installed on your system.


New PDF Profiles

-This version of PitStop Professional installs the new set of PDF Profiles (only if there was no prior installation of one of the Enfocus products). 
-This release also fixes or enhances functionality in several areas:

-Selecting the action "Change Annotation's Print Settings" on Windows will no longer cause a crash.
-The check for 16 bit images is now included in the Smart Profile Compare, used to compare PDF Profiles in the Certified Workflow.
-The transparency of an image with an SMask (= a mask containing transparency attributes) won't disappear when executing an image resolution, image compression or color change.
-Refreshing issues regarding control panels.
-Several minor bug fixes.

PitStop Professional 6.51

Acrobat 7 and PDF 1.6 compatibility

PitStop Professional 6.5 supports Acrobat 7 and enables you to check and fix PDF 1.6 specific features during preflight.

New PDF Profiles

-This version of PitStop Professional installs the new set of PDF Profiles (only if there was no prior installation of one of the Enfocus products). 

This release fixes or enhances the following issues:

-No more Acrobat crash when executing Action List to remove bookmark.
-Transparent objects in a form with transparency settings will maintain their original transparency percentage after preflighting or moving the form.
-Updated Smart Profile Compare mechanism, used to compare PDF Profiles in the Certified Workflow.

All features and bug fixes of PitStop Professional 6.5, now available in all supported languages (English – French – German – Spanish – Italian):

-Selecting the action "Change Annotation's Print Settings" on Windows will no longer cause a crash.

Updated policy regarding text editing:

In PitStop Professional 6.5 in conjunction with Acrobat 7 following font licensing rules apply:
-If the font is embedded and allows editing, you are notified to comply to the font license agreement and asked if you obtained the necessary permissions from your font vendor. When answered yes, text editing is allowed. In PitStop Professional 6.5 in conjunction with Acrobat 6 on Mac OS X text editing is only allowed if the font is installed on your system.

PitStop Professional 6.52

-PitStop Professional 6.52 is the first Acrobat 7 compatible version of PitStop Professional Japanese.
-PitStop Professional 6.52 contains a correction for a bug introduced in PitStop Professional 6.51. The preflight fix "Replace with real gray" has been improved.

PitStop Professional 6.53

-Option has been added in the PDF Profile Editor to "Compression is not optimal". A check has been added so non-compressed objects can be ignored.
-A check and a fix have been added for default color spaces.
-Updated PDF Profiles database (added checks enabled for PDF/X compliancy).
-Change page box layout according to press layout has been optimized.
-The list of ICC characterizations in the PDF/X Color category of the Profile Editor has been extended.
-Ethernet adress is now displayed in Acrobat 7 on Mac OS X.
-A bug fix has been added for problems with inaccessible Generic Enfocus ICC profiles on Mac OS X.
-A bug fix has been added to allow entering of negative values in the Global Change panel.
-Some minor bug fixes.
