When you browse the portal and find an interesting idea that solves a bottleneck in your shop, hit the upvote button. Upvotes show our product team what truly matters in the industry. For example, when a single request gathers dozens of upvotes, it signals a widespread need. These insights help us shape and prioritize our development resources. 

Refining Ideas in the Comments 

The comment section turns a simple suggestion into an elaborated feature concept. Discuss specific use cases, add technical nuances, and explain how a change would impact your efficiency. 

A Direct Line to Product Management 

Our Product Managers monitor this portal closely. They read through your comments in the thread, ask clarifying questions, and update the status of your requests. You can track the progress with clear labels: 

• Waiting For Review: The idea has just been shared; someone will look at it ASAP. 

• In Review: Someone is actively evaluating your request. 

• In Progress: We accepted the concept and our development teams are actively building and testing the feature. 

• Planned: The feature has been built, and it's scheduled for a future release. 

• Shipped: The feature is live, and you can start using it in the latest software update.

When an Idea Becomes a Reality 

To give you a better understanding of this process and how we label threads, let's look at a real example.  

Waiting For Review 

Recently, a user suggested a new feature for PitStop Pro. The idea started small; they wanted a more efficient way to add grommet marks to a circle. This new thread on the Feature Request portal automatically got labeled as 'Waiting For Review'. 

In Review 

PitStop Pro’s Product Manager joined the thread to ask for further details; he made sure that we fully understood what they wanted to achieve with this feature. Meanwhile, other PitStop users reacted positively to this request. Some users even expanded on it, adding that it may be beneficial to have the option to copy any graphics, not just grommet marks, to a pre-defined path. At this point of the process, the thread got labeled as ‘In Review’, while we were evaluating the concept. 

In Progress 

We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy task for our development team, but we saw the engagement this request was getting, so they went to work turning the community’s idea into reality. During development, the label on the thread changed to ‘In Progress’, letting all participants know that we were actively working on this. 

Planned 

The development team had finished the feature, so our PitStop Product Manager updated the thread with an expected release date. At this point, the thread got labeled as ‘Planned’, making sure everyone knew they could expect this feature to be included in one of the upcoming releases. 

Shipped 

Finally, the 26.03 release brought ‘Distribute Along a Path’, and it has been a much-used feature in PitStop ever since. The thread is now closed and got ‘Shipped’ as its final label.
